Guyan Reagent-Japan successfully developed high sensitivity cold virus sensor

Gu Yan Reagent-Japan successfully developed a high-sensitivity cold virus sensor. A joint research group consisting of Waseda University and Hokkaido University has recently developed a high-sensitivity cold virus sensor that is 10,000 times more sensitive than current influenza virus detection methods. The sensor uses a very small amount of virus to cause a voltage change, making it a semiconductor chip that can sense small changes in voltage and is only 1 cm long. Experiments show that 0.02 microliters of liquid equivalent to a drop of snot water is attached to the chip. If the liquid contains more than 15 viruses, the chip can sense the voltage change within 10 minutes. Replacing the corresponding chip material will identify the avian influenza virus. The successful development of this device will play an effective role in the early diagnosis and early treatment of influenza and the prevention of infection expansion. The project team plans to further develop with relevant medical experts and relevant analytical instrument manufacturers, and strive to launch practical products for hospitals and families within 3-5 years. It is estimated that the cost of the device after mass production can reach about 50 yen each. The research results have been published in American professional journals.
