Breathable beer bottle cap

American researchers have developed breathable beer caps that can solve bottle explosions and spoilage problems.

Researchers first invented a new liner for beer caps that automatically deflate when the internal pressure of the beer bottle approaches the extreme pressure that the beer bottle is subjected to. In the safe pressure range, this inner liner can ensure the tightness of the bottle cap, do not allow the outside air to enter the bottle and cause the beer to degenerate, and it will not let the carbon dioxide in the beer leak out and affect the taste. However, when the pressure exceeds the standard and may affect safety, this inner liner will appear a small gap under the pressure. This has an automatic air defense function.

The researchers also invented a cap liner that absorbs oxides. There are small holes in the liner, and there are reducing agents harmless to the human body in the small holes, which can absorb the residual oxygen in the top of the beer bottle, and can also absorb a small amount of oxygen infiltrated from the bottle cap to prolong the shelf life of the beer.
