Recently, Pasper, Bremen, Germany, has developed a new process for the production of foam paper. The replacement of foam with packaging materials made from foam paper can effectively reduce environmental pollution and waste of resources. This type of foam paper uses old newspaper scraps and flour as raw materials. Its production process is to first cut the recycled old newspapers and newspapers into shreds, then grind them into fibrous pulp and mix it with flour in a 2:1 ratio. The pulp is injected into the extruder and pressed into cylindrical pellets. During the extrusion process, the raw material is foamed by the action of water vapor to form a foam paper. Compared with foam plastics, the foam paper has a simple production process and can be molded once, eliminating the need for multiple foaming and cooling processes. Since foamed paper does not require chemical additives for foaming, only water vapor is required, and used foam paper can also be recycled and used again. Therefore, foam paper production and use are environmentally friendly.
