Since the State Oceanic Administration announced the first seven national-level marine parks in 2011, it has approved the establishment of 42 national-level marine parks nationwide. Jinshan declared and approved the first national marine park in Shanghai.
It is reported that during the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period, Jinshan will not only build the Jinshan Ocean Park, the “Parrot Island” wetland, but also promote the “One City, One Belt and One Circle” construction. In Jinshan District's industrial development and the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” briefing, Jinshan District said that Jinshan will build the Jinshan New City, the development zone of the town of Tingfeng Town, and the central ecological circle to create a new bright spot for ecotourism and life production. At present, a wetland ecological restoration project is under construction on the west side of Jinshan City Beach, which is named "Parrot Island." The wetland project covers an area of ​​about 232,000 square meters and is divided into three areas: wetland purification display area, salt marsh wetland restoration area, and natural wetland bird feeder area.
