Canon Launches New Printers for Photo and Poster Printing Market

After Canon (China) Co., Ltd. released a 12-color, 44-inch format iPF8000 in March this year and achieved a good market response, on September 24, once again for the photo, art and poster printing market, launched imagePROGRAF series of new products - 12 colors, The A1+ format (24-inch) iPF6100 further enriches its 12-color model product line. The new product will be officially sold on October 8. Adopting the world's first (Note:*1) "Ambient Light Correction Printing" technology, and adding new and innovative high-precision color calibration functions, as well as an improved ink system, is a new generation of products that have a pioneering significance in the imagePROGRAF series.

Canon's unique next-generation color management technology, “Kyuanos”, implements the “ambient light correction printing” function, which can effectively avoid the color cast problem of printed products caused by the lighting of fluorescent lamps or incandescent lamps. The user can select the appropriate color output according to the light characteristics of the sample display location, so as to obtain a satisfactory color effect.

The automatic "color calibration" function refers to the color deviation generated by a variety of reasons (such as the difference in the print heads after multiple print heads are used to print and replace the print heads, or after the print heads are used for many years, etc.), which can be automatically adjusted by the printer. Function to easily reduce the average color difference to less than ⊿ E2.0 (Note: ※2) to achieve stable color.

This new product further enhances the entire ink system by improving the original BK, MBK, GY, and PGY 4 black and white inks. As the graininess of the picture becomes smaller, the abrasion resistance of the surface of the printed product is improved, and the “Bronze” phenomenon is significantly reduced (the phenomenon that the printed color appears to be similar to the metallic luster color due to different viewing angles). Many improvements make the print product closer to the printing effect.

Pigment ink "LUCIA" adopts the new 12-color pigment ink system, and the ultra-high density print head technology "FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering)" achieves up to 2,560 per color, a total of 30,720 nozzles, and ejects a minimum of 4 pl (picoliters) of ink. Drops, thus reaching a resolution of up to 2,400 x 1,200 dpi. At the same time, based on the high-speed image processor "L-COA", high-quality and high-speed synchronous upgrades are realized.

In addition, the iPF6100's mute design during printing, high-performance cutters, nozzle-free automatic compensation system, remote notification via e-mail, large-capacity ink cartridges, large Chinese-language LCD panel, and other convenient functions are designed to make this machine. The model has high productivity, high reliability and high operability and is suitable for large-scale operations.
